Common Commands

Overview

The following commands are common to many device protocol types. See Object Commands for how to locate and execute a command.

Command	Description	Parameters	Where Command is Found
Demand Poll	Requests a poll of all advised OPC Items in the device. Note: You must have an item advised in an OPC Client.	None	Commands Tab, Right-Click Menu, Send Multiple Commands
Dump Item List	Writes all the currently advised items for the device to the logger	None	Commands Tab
Abort Current Task	Requests the device to abort its current task.	None	Commands Tab
*Retrieve History	Executes the Retrieve History command.	None	Commands Tab, Right-Click Menu, Send Multiple Commands
*Delete History for a Device	This command will delete all history for this device and its meters.	None	Right-Click Menu
*Republish Device Records	Immediately publishes the first 1000 historical records, according to record timestamp, starting at the selected date. Note: If the publisher has a filter assigned, the device and/or it's meters must be included in the filter.	Earliest Record Date	Commands Tab, Right-Click Menu, Send Multiple Commands

* These commands are only available for devices that retrieve history.
