Multi edit configuration

App Manager allows you to multi-edit configuration items from the same screen. In order to start using the multi-edit tool, click the Menu options in the explorer.

This will create a widget with steps to create the multi-edit query you need.

Selecting What to Edit

Item Type

This window shows you the available items for you to multi-edit.

  • Nodes: Server level configuration settings for each of your installs.

  • Apps: App level settings for the applications installed on each node.

  • Objects: Configuration objects that each app requires to operate.

The “Objects” list can grow based on your apps, make sure to use the Search Filter.

Node Selection

This window will only become available if you have selected to multi-edit Apps or Objects. It allows you to select which Nodes to query. The selection can grow quite large so be sure to utilize the Select Filtered feature to speed your process.

Keep in mind that if you leave all Nodes selected, the query can take some time to process.

Finish

Before you Generate the Multi-edit screen, you will be given a summary of the query you have selected to process.

The time it takes to generate the final screen depends on the number of nodes and item types that you have selected.

Editing

The tool will generate a view similar to the following image. Only one row is shown here, more may be present in results.

  • Save all: This button will allow you to save all settings changed in the current view. This button is also available in the save column header.

  • Customize Viewed Properties: This will open a window where you will be able to pick and choose which columns to view. The smaller the filter, the easier it is to see what you are editing.

  • Toggle Properties View: This button is also available in every column header. It allows you to expand or minimize the view style of a property. This feature allows you to maximize the space in use on the screen. Using the “File Type” property as an example:

    • When “Expanded” the “File Type” cell will look like this:

    • And when minimized, it will look like this:
