Configuring Applications

Tree View and Item View

The Tree View allows you to organize configuration items as you see fit. Some applications also have folder objects so that many items may be grouped together. To view more details about a specific item, double click the item or right-click and select “Properties”. This will bring up the Item View.

Add an Object

Most applications allow objects to be added to the Tree View. To add an object, right-click the desired application and select Add to see a list of available objects. “Folder” is the only option available in the menu for an application’s root as all other objects must exist within a folder.

Once selected, the new object will appear in the Item View with the name “New ObjectType”.

Provide a new name for the object, set its properties, and save either using the Enter key or the disk icon to generate the new object.

Delete an Object

Right-click the desired object in the Tree View and select Delete from the context menu.

Copy an Object

To duplicate an object and it’s configuration data, right-click the item to be copied in the Tree View and select Copy. To duplicate a folder and all it’s child objects, right-click at the folder level.

References to other object types are not copied and will be set to [ Unassigned ]. Verify all settings after copying an item.

View Logs

A new tab will open up that will show all the changes made to an object.

This will show when an object was created as well as changes made to its settings. Changes to all objects can be viewed in objects.log .

In objects.log, you can view when objects are created, updated, and deleted.

Tips

When having a large number of nodes with multiple apps it can become difficult to find which app belongs to which node.

If you hover over an opened configuration tab, you will get the path that leads to the opened item. You will also get a blue highlight over the containing parents in the tree.

In this example, the opened Edge ACM belongs to New Node. The tab will also contain the path visible on the top right.
