Finding Crash Dump Files

Determine the location where Windows is saving these files.

Method 1 - Locate Problem Report Path

Start-> Control Panel -> System and Security -> Action Center -> Maintenance -> View Reliability History -> View all problem reports

Method 2 - Search For Problem Reports

Open the control panel and search for "problem reports" and pull up "view all problem reports".

Method 3 - Search For Problem Reports

Type "view all problem reports" into the Cortana search bar and select the best match.

Using The Files

Double-click on one of 'Stopped Working' or 'APPCRASH' entries to view the details. If a crash dump file exists you'll see a link near the bottom of the problem description that says "View a temporary copy of these files". Click that link and you'll be able to copy the .mdmp file.
