Edge EFM Collection Overview

Edge EFM Collection Overview

Edge-based configurations can be designed to retrieve archived records from their connected devices, including periodic records (hourly, daily), events, alarms, and batch records. Edge ACM then transmits these archived records to the configured MQTT broker. Meanwhile, in ACM, the Edge EFM Collection Service receives these records from the MQTT broker and forwards them to the designated publishers configured within ACM.

To enable publication, the Edge EFM Collection Service must associate each MQTT archive record with the correct device and meter. Users should align their Edge ACM configuration with their ACM configuration. In the example below, the device object (a ROC device) is named '5110' and includes four meters named '5110Meter1,' '5110Meter2,' and so on. Notice the naming is exactly the same on the left (Edge ACM and on the right (ACM).

In addition to naming, in ACM the four meters need to be linked on the “Meter Runs” tab.

Those are the only two requirements for the “mirrored” ACM configuration. For example:

  • The ACM device in question does not need to be enabled.

  • The ACM device (or meters) in question do not need to in the same folder hierarchy as Edge ACM.

  • The ACM device in question does not need to have any archives selected in archive configuration.

Another requirement for receiving and publishing Edge ACM-collected archives is configuring the Edge EFM Collection Service MQTT Broker. Details on that can be found here:
