OPC UA

The OPC UA application hosts an OPC UA server on the Edge device allowing OPC UA clients to access data from eACM and File Handler.

Once configured, it can be found on the IP of the device, on the port configured, under the name “AUTOSOL Edge OPC UA Server”

Properties

Properties can be accessed by double clicking the app name or right clicking and selecting “Properties” from the drop down menu.

Open

Enable

The app will not start unless enabled. When not enabled it cannot start, nor will the system attempt to restart it on a reboot.

Namespace URI

Specify the namespace URI to be used by OPC UA. Can be left as default for most OPC clients. Default: urn:AUTOSOL:UaServer:Edge

Port

The port used for OPC UA communications. Default: 4840.

Verbose Log

Enable additional logging for troubleshooting purposes.

Auto Restart App

Once started, Edge Manager will attempt to restart the app should it shut down for any reason other than manually being stopped within the web interface

Log File Count

The number of log files kept by each OPC UA process

Log size max (kb)

The size in Kilobytes that each log file is allowed to reach before rotating to a new file

Discovery

If using an OPC UA client that requires the Discovery address be manually specified, use:

opc.tcp://DeviceIP:Port/discovery

Where DeviceIP is the IP address of the device running the app and Port is the port number specified in configuration above.

Endpoint

The Endpoint URL is:

opc.tcp://DeviceIP:Port/eACM_OPCUA/server/

Where DeviceIP is the IP address of the device running the app and Port is the port number specified in configuration above.
