Overview

The FLOWCAL SCADA Request Service (asiFlowCalScadaRequest) performs the following tasks:

  • Monitors the FC_SCADA_REQUEST database table for new requests. (This connection is configurable and is discussed below)
  • Create and Monitor a GC write request using the Write Request Library.
  • Mark the request STATUS Completed or Failed in the FC_SCADA_REQUEST database table along with setting the SCADA_UPDATE_DATE.

Configuration

Configuration of the service consists of setting several properties and a database connection.

FLOWCAL Area Index

This option is used to restrict requests to those matching the MEASUREMENT_AREA_INDEX field of the FC_SCADA_REQUEST table. Leave empty to specify all areas or specify a value to restrict processing requests to only those matching this value.

Configuration of this property is done in the Server Monitor in the Gas Analysis Writes Properties section.

FLOWCAL Database Connection

This connection allows the service to access to the FC_SCADA_REQUEST database table.

Configuration of this connection is done in the Server Monitor in the Database section.

Using The Service

The service can be started and stopped via the ACM Monitor in the Status section. Once the service creates a request, the Request Manager Service processes the request. Refer to the general request processing concepts discussed here.

Meter Mapping Between Systems (For Reference Only)

To correctly map the FLOWCAL meter identification with that of a device/meter in ACM, several fields are present in the request record with the following equality relationships shown here:

FLOWCAL Database Field

ACM Database Field

FC_SCADA_REQUEST.AR_INDEX

tblGcWritePending.ExternalRequestId

FC_SCADA_REQUEST.DEVICE_NUMBER

tblGcWritePending.GCIdentifier
