The S7Comm Protocol (RFC 1006) utilizes COTP/TPKT ISO Transport services on top of TCP for communication between ACM and S7 devices. The S7Comm protocol is designed for transferring data into SCADA systems via Ethernet. 

Supported Devices

The Siemens® S7 (S7Comm) module is designed to allow a host computer to communicate with 300, 400, 1200 and 1500 model devices via the Ethernet port on the device (May be labeled as PROFINET port).

Note

The S7 protocol does not implement any PROFINET protocols such as IO or RT.
