Device Type

  • S7-200
  • S7-300 (Default)
  • S7-400
  • S7-1200
  • S7-1500

S7-200 Connections

For S7-200 device connections, only the Source and Remote TSAP settings are used. The number shown is converted to HEX when transmitted to the device. Example: 10.02 would be entered as 4098, but would be transmitted as 0x1002. 

Connection Type

The Connection resource type. 

  • Programming Console (PG)
  • System (OP)
  • S7 Basic (PC) (Default)

Rack Number

Default = 0. (0-7) Module Rack location number.

Slot Number

Default = 0. (1-31) Module Slot location number.

Source TSAP

Default = 4096 (HEX:0x1000). The two byte Source Transport Service Access Point. Value is converted to HEX when transmitted. For non S7-200 communications, a fixed value of 0x0300 is used for the source.

Remote TSAP

Default = 4096 (HEX:0x1000). The two byte Destination Transport Service Access Point. Value is converted to HEX when transmitted. For non S7-200 communications, the remote value is calculated using the Connection Type, Rack and Slot numbers.

Enable Enhanced Logging Mode

Default = Not Selected. Select this option to have the protocol log additional information about incoming and outgoing messages and troubleshooting data.

Caution

Leaving this option on for extended periods of time can result in a large volume of log entries. This option is only recommended for short periods of time as to gather data for troubleshooting.
