Overview

The ACM Monitor shows is where the status of ACM services and provides a location for configuration data used by some of the ACM services.server is managed and configured.  To learn more about each tab, reference the list below:

Starting ACM Monitor

Click Start > All Programs > AutoSol Communication Manager ACM Monitor

The ACM Monitor will open, and the ACM Monitor Icon will show in the tray.

Configure ACM Monitor to Show at All Times

Click Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Taskbar and Start Menu to open the Taskbar and Start Menu properties.

  1. Within the Notification area, click Customize…. This will open the Notification Area Icons
  2. Locate the asiServerMonitor and select Show icon and notifications in the drop-down list.

    Make sure that “Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar" is not selected otherwise the Behaviors column will be grayed out.


  3. Click OK.
  4. Close all open windows.

Another method to get the ACM Monitor icon to show at all times is to right-click on the icon in the Start menu and select Pin to Taskbar.

Status Tab

The appropriate ACM services are configured to start automatically when the computer starts. However, you can manually control the services from the Status page. The ACM Monitor window opens with the Status tab selected by default.

To run the server, click Select All and Start Service(s). The asiDATA service must be running to view server information.

Server Information

In order to view server stats, click on the Server information... button. The following information is displayed:

  • The current Server Version
  • The Start Time
  • Windows Version
  • Components (Process, Module, Protocol, and Connection) and their versions

To paste the text version of the Server Information click on the Copy to Clipboard This information can be pasted into an application such as Notepad.

Show Disabled Services

Select the Show Disabled Services check box to view all available ACM services that are disabled.

Show Optional Services

Select the Show Optional Services check box to view all optional ACM services both disabled and enabled.

Changing the Account a Service Runs Under

There may be a time when logon information for a service needs to be changed. Let’s say, for example, that the asiLOGSERVER login information needs to be modified.

  1. Select the service and click Change login.
  2. Select whether a Local System Account or a Specified Account will be used.

Note that if the former choice is selected, none of the fields can be modified.

  1. If Specified Account is selected:
    1. Fill in Account name
    2. Fill in Password
    3. Confirm Password
  2. Click OK to confirm changes or Cancel to discard.

Note that a modified service must be stopped and restarted before the changes can take effect.

Logging Tab

Log Files:

  • LogToDisk: Select true to make the Logger service write the log messages to disk
  • LogFilePath: The folder that will be used for storing log files.
  • DeleteOldFiles: Select True to delete files that are older than the "DaysToKeep" setting.
  • MaxFileSize: Set the maximum size, in megabytes, for log files.

Logger Settings

  • Logger Setting Path: Select the folder where the logger settings should be stored.

UDP Setup

  • MinPortNumber: Select the lowest UDP Port number to use when searching for an available port for sending log messages to listeners.
  • MaxPortNumber: Select the highest UDP Port number to use when searching for an available port for sending log messages to listeners.
  • IPAddress: Enter the UDP/IP Address to use when sending log messages to listeners.

License Tab

The License information text box displays the current license and features that are licensed.

License Request: Click the License Request button which will generate the request and copy it to the clipboard.  To request a license, please paste the information into an email message and send it to autosol.register@autosoln.com.

License File:  The location of the license file.  Select the Image Removed button to select the license file.

System Files Tab

Where critical information is stored, such as the server's database connection and dynamically created data used by protocols and historical record processing services.

Default = C:\ProgramData\AutoSol\Communication Manager\7.
