To publish data from end devices from ACM, Alias Groups must be used.  This can be done in one of two ways.

  1. Devices can be assigned alias groups which, in turn, are configured with a list of items to publish via MQTT.  This configuration is generally preferable as it allows the most flexibility.  Multiple alias groups may be associated with a single device; alias groups can have different lists of items and be set to poll on different intervals, etc.

  2. Alternatively, a single alias group can be used for an entire ACM installation.  This alias group is assigned to the $Server object, and is commonly referred to as the "Server Alias Group".

Polling the items manually (Demand Poll), setting the alias group on an interval, or using the device’s default polling interval will result in their values being published via MQTT automatically.
