DNP3 FBx Transactional Log Tab

Log Number

Select the transactional log (1 - 100) for which to configure the following settings:

Collect Log

Default = Not selected. Select to collect transactional log and configure the following settings:

Meter

Click […] to select or create the Meter object assigned to the selected transactional log. See the Meter section for more details. Transactional log uploads don't retrieve or publish meter configuration records for this Meter object, so there's no need to assign a Meter Configuration.

If no Meter object is assigned, transactional log records will be published to the Meter object assigned to the Generic Meter in the Meter Runs tab. If the Meter object of the Generic Meter is also unassigned, the transactional log's records can't be published.

If the "Publish as Liquid Batch Record to Station" option (see below) is selected, this Meter object won't be used. Instead, the transactional log records will be published to the Meter object of the station number specified by the option.

Archive

Click […] to select or create a Configurable Archive object. See the Configurable Archive section for more details.

If no Configurable Archive object is assigned, transactional log records can only be published to non-EFM formats, with a default Type Name of TransLogX (where X is the number of the transactional log) and a default Time Period of 0.

Assigning an Archive Field Configuration to the Configurable Archive object is optional. If an Archive Field Configuration object is assigned, the settings on the Date/Time tab won't be used, and neither will the Data Type or Byte/Word/DWord Order properties of the Archive Field Configuration records. This information is included in the transactional log records read from the device.

Units are also included in transactional log records, but ACM doesn't support all the unit types that FBx devices can be configured for. If a transactional log field in your FBx device is configured for a unit type that ACM doesn't support, you'll have to use the Unit Identifier and Scale String properties in the Archive Field Configuration record for that field to convert the value to a unit type that ACM does support.

If the "Use transaction points from device" option in the Archive Collection tab is selected, this Configurable Archive object will not be used. Instead, information from the transactional log headers will be used to publish the transactional log.

Do Not Use Header for This Transactional Log

Do not use the transactional log header from the device to publish records for this transactional log, even if the “Use transactional log points from device” option is selected in the Archive Settings tab. Instead, use the Archive Field Configuration object, if assigned. This option should be selected when publishing transactional logs as liquid batch records to an EFM format, since the transactional log header doesn't yet include EFM Field Identifiers for the points in the transactional log.

Publish as Liquid Batch Record to Station

Default = Not selected. Select to publish transactional log data as liquid batch records and set the station number (the Generic Meter is Station 0) to which those records will be published.

If this option is selected, the Meter object assigned to the transactional log won't be used. Instead, the transactional log records will be published to the Meter object of the station number specified here. If the Meter object of the selected station is unassigned, the transactional log's records can't be published.

Liquid Product Record

Select method used to publish (or not) a liquid product record for the transactional log. Some EFM formats such as CFX won’t publish liquid batch records without a corresponding liquid product record.

  • Use Product Name (Default). Publishes a liquid product record containing nothing but the product name, which is set in the Liquid Product Name field below.

  • From Transactional Log. Publishes a liquid product record using fields from the transactional log record. The Archive Field Configuration object must assign liquid product EFM field identifiers to the fields of the transactional log that will be used for the liquid product record.

  • Do Not Publish. Does not publish a liquid product record.

Liquid Product Name

If the “Use Product Name” option is selected for the Liquid Product Record field above, this string will be used as the product name in the liquid product record.
