Data Viewer
The Data Viewer enables you to view real-time data from each polling application. It is located in the top menu of the Web Configuration.
Basic Function
The Explorer on the left allows you to scan for active applications by pressing the “Get Data” button. Alternately, the Realtime Data tree node’s right-click menu contains the Get Data item that performs the same as the button.
You may then expand the tree, double click the relevant device, and see a snapshot of current data.
Data is always sampled at the time Get Data is pressed. To update the displayed data, press the button again. The “Last Update” time shows when Get Data last executed according to the app driver.
Get Data collects values from apps but does not trigger a Demand. The apps will continue to collect data at their scheduled rate.
You can set how many tags are shown per page with the dropdown next to the tag count and select a page as desired.
To hide or show the explorer, use the arrow under the Data Viewer title.
Select an app to show all of that apps devices in a table together:
Demand Scan
The demand scan button is located on the left side of the toolbar and is visible for a single device view when the Demand tag is present in the device tag listing. Alternatively, the Demand can be requested from the device node’s right-click menu in the Explorer tree when the Demand tag is present in the device tag listing.
Once the button is clicked, a Demand poll request is sent to the device. If the request was successfully submitted, a message will appear as shown below:
If the request could not be successfully submitted, a message will appear in red indicating failure.
Request success does not indicate that polling was a success, only that the request made it to the service that forwards the request on to the device. The device log should be used to determine if the demand poll took place and was successful or not.
Sort Data
Data can be sorted by any column, click the arrows on the right side of the column:
Column not selected for sort
Data is sorted by this column in ascending order
Data is sorted by this column in descending order
Filter Data
By entering a term into the filter box, you can search for any column entry and display only the rows that have a matching value:
You can clear the filter with the X button or lock the filter with the with the lock button. Once the filter is locked, it will be kept as you open different devices. Possible uses include filtering on Communications Failure and checking your devices for bad tags.
