OpenSSL

You should always check with your IT/Security department before compiling or installing any Open Source software. 

Windows: 

If it isn’t already installed, download Download and install OpenSSL (https://wiki.openssl.org/index.php/Binaries) .   AUTOSOL used the version at https://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html, but you should always check with your IT/Security department before installing any Open Source software. 

Once openssl is installed you can create your certificate chain.

Linux

OpenSSL must be if it isn’t already.

To verify OpenSSL is installed and in your system PATH . For in Debian Linux, you may check to see if openssl is installed and on your PATH using the which use the “which” command: $ openssl which

Where the expected output is the file path where openssl is installed. Example:

$ which openssl
.

  • If a file path is returned, it is the location where OpenSSL is installed /usr/bin/openssl
